Key broken or stuck inside
A fragment in the lock or a key left inside is a special case. Act calmly – no force and no improvisation on the cylinder.
Do not pull or drill
Do not try to remove pieces with pliers, glue or household tricks. That can damage the cylinder and increase the work. Keep hands off lock and door.
Describe the situation clearly
On the phone: Is the key inside and the door latched or locked? Or did a key break with a piece still in the lock? That description aligns fixed price and expectations.
