Emergency locksmith for a broken key – Bönnigheim

A broken key blocks the cylinder. If you are stuck outside your door in Bönnigheim, you need two things: the broken piece out and the door open. We do both on one call-out, at a fixed price.

Don’t work in the cylinder with tweezers, wire or glue. That often pushes the broken piece deeper. Keep the piece that broke off. Tell us whether the door has just slammed shut (only the latch holds) or is locked.

We come to Bönnigheim, about 20.4 km as the crow flies from the ikeytz office in Adalbert-Stifter-Straße. We tell you on the phone when we will arrive. Keep the piece of key ready. Bönnigheim is further out. We give you an honest arrival time on the phone before we set off.

If you are locked out, the opening price applies: 99 € or 149 € (slammed shut), 129 € or 179 € (locked), removal of the broken piece included. If you can still get in and only the broken piece needs to come out, we tell you the price on the phone first.

Wednesday, 9 am, locked: 129 €. Wednesday, 10 pm, door slammed shut: 149 €. Wednesday, 9 am, door slammed shut: 99 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

We pull the broken piece out of the cylinder with special tools. Then we open the door. If the cylinder is worn, we recommend replacing it and tell you the price first.

The key is hard to insert, catches when you turn it or has to be jiggled. Then the cylinder is dirty or worn. Graphite or cylinder spray often makes it run smoothly again. If that does not help, a new cylinder is cheaper than a snapped key.

If the cylinder is damaged after the broken piece is removed, it usually belongs to the landlord. A swap makes sense then, but agree it with the landlord if the cylinder belongs to a system. We swap single cylinders at a fixed price.

Have worn keys copied before they break. If the cylinder sticks, dirt is often the cause; graphite or cylinder spray helps, oil does not.

Replace old, thin keys. Look after stiff cylinders or have them changed. Never force a key.
