What “cylinder only” means at night

Same work as during the day: the door is open, we change the profile cylinder, no opening needed. What changes is the price: 119 € instead of 89 €. Locked out at night → night door opening, or opening and new cylinder at night – not this package.

What 119 € includes

Included: travel in the service area, fitting, standard profile cylinder. Phone beforehand: 119 €. Not included: high-security cylinder surcharge, door opening, drilling, extra travel outside. Identity/access check at night too.

Mon–Fri 18:00–08:00, Sat, Sun, public holiday BW. Daytime: 89 € on /zylinderwechsel. Fitting after opening same trip remains 49 € — regardless of day/night of the opening.

Your teenager comes home without a key

It is shortly before midnight, and your son rings the bell because his keys are gone. You let him in, so the door is open. But somewhere out there is now a key to your home. If it had a tag with his name on it or was lying next to his student ID, many parents do not want to wait until Monday. Then a change that same night makes sense. If there is no clue to the address, you can also wait calmly.

A break-up or an argument in the evening

Sometimes a key simply needs to stop working immediately. A partner moves out after an argument and keeps the key. A flatmate becomes abusive. If you feel threatened, please call the police on 110 first. If things are calm, but you do not want to sleep while that key is still out there, a change during the night is a clear step. It settles the question of who can still get in.

Saturday: the lock has been sticking for days

Not every change outside daytime hours is urgent. If on a Saturday the key is just a little stiff but still turns, you can weigh things up. On Monday between 8 am and 6 pm, the same change costs 89 €. If, on the other hand, the key has already almost got stuck once, waiting is often not worth it. If it gets stuck while you are out, it becomes a door opening.

Marks on the door after an attempted break-in

If you notice scratches on the lock in the evening, or the cylinder is loose, call the police on 110 first and touch as little as possible. Only then is it time to think about the door. If it has been damaged in a break-in, emergency securing may be needed. There is no list price for that; we tell you the fixed price on the phone beforehand. A simple cylinder change is only possible if the door is otherwise intact.

What you can have ready at night

Have your ID card or passport with your address, or your tenancy agreement, close at hand. Gather all the keys you still have for the old cylinder in one place. Switch on the light in the hallway and the stairwell so that you can let us in easily. Keep pets in another room. And think now about how many new keys you need, including for grandparents or neighbours.

Spare keys do not belong under the doormat

After a change at night, many people are tempted to leave the spare key somewhere quickly so that everyone can get in tomorrow. But everyone knows about the doormat, the flowerpot and the letterbox. It is better to hand the spare key personally to someone you trust. Anyone who needs one early tomorrow gets it in their hand tonight or at breakfast tomorrow. A hiding place in the garden is no substitute for a person you really trust, either.

Christmas, New Year and long weekends

On public holidays there are often lots of guests in the house, and keys pass from hand to hand. Especially after New Year’s Eve, one is sometimes missing, or a guest has left with a key. On all public holidays in Baden-Württemberg, the same price applies as on any evening: 119 € with the door open. If the guest sends the key back safely, you can also wait. If nobody knows where it is, there is more to be said for a change.

What does the change cost outside daytime hours?

Outside Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm, the cylinder change costs 119 € with the door open. A standard cylinder is included. This is a fixed price, not a surcharge.

What do I pay for a security cylinder?

The standard cylinder is included in the night price. If you would like a security cylinder, you pay an extra charge of typically 25–70 €. We discuss this with you before fitting, so that you can decide calmly.

Do you also go out to smaller villages at night?

Yes, throughout the whole service area with its 52 towns, villages and districts in the district of Ludwigsburg (Landkreis Ludwigsburg). The call-out there is included in the price, even at night and at the weekend.
