Only after an opening already ordered and paid on the same trip. Travel is in the opening. We fit the new profile cylinder; material extra. No dedicated trip for fitting only under this amount — that is the cylinder-only package (89 €/119 €).

What is included — and what is not

Included: fitting labour on the same trip. Not included: material, second travel, opening, high-security cylinder surcharge. State material amount beforehand. Drilling/multipoint locking: own fixed price, not silently 49 €.

Difference from opening with a new cylinder and from cylinder only

Slammed shut + new cylinder, day/night: 148 €/198 €. Locked + new cylinder: 178 €/228 €. Cylinder only, separate trip: 89 €/119 €. 49 € is only the fitting charge after an opening — not the price for opening and new cylinder in one visit, and not the package.

Process on the same trip

Opening done and paid → decide cylinder yes/no → quote material → fitting 49 € → test. One trip, two clearly separate invoice lines (opening + fitting), unless opening and new cylinder were booked together at one fixed price.

Why a separate price

Practical examples and limits

Standard example: the apartment door is open and we swap the profile cylinder at the day or night price — then the fixed price on this page applies. Deviation example: high-security cylinder, multipoint locking or drilling — new fixed price beforehand on the phone, not silently charging more. Lockout example: then this cylinder-only or fitting page is the wrong one; door opening, or opening and new cylinder in one visit, applies. We describe these boundaries on purpose, so that nobody mixes up the prices.

Mention it when you call

If you already suspect when you call that you will want a new cylinder, say so straight away. For example, because the bunch with your address on it has gone, or the old key sticks anyway. Then we can briefly talk about your door on the phone and plan better. This does not commit you to anything. Whether a new cylinder is actually fitted is something you only decide on site, at the open door.

Questions to ask yourself at the open door

Once the door is open, a quick check is worthwhile. Do I know where all the keys to this cylinder are? Has one been lost, and could the finder know my address? Has the key been stiff lately? Do I feel safe with the old cylinder tonight? If you answer one of these questions in a way that worries you, there is a lot to be said for changing it on the same visit.

After an opening that needed drilling

If drilling was necessary because the door could not be opened without damage, you will have agreed to it beforehand. The old cylinder is almost always unusable afterwards. The door then cannot be locked without a new cylinder. In this case, fitting on the same visit is almost always the next step. Here too it costs 49 €, plus the material.

How the costs appear on the invoice

On your invoice, the opening, the fitting and the material are listed as separate items. That way you can see exactly what you are paying for. The material price depends on the cylinder you choose. A standard cylinder is typically 25–50 €. If you choose a security cylinder, this typically goes up by 25–70 €. We tell you the material price before the cylinder is fitted. So you still have time to say no in peace.

Good reasons to put the change off

Changing the cylinder straight away is not always the best choice. In a rented flat, you may want to talk to your landlord first. If the door is part of a master key system, that is a separate case with its own fixed price, which we tell you beforehand. And if the key was simply left inside the flat, there is often no reason at all for a new cylinder. Then it stays at the door opening.

Two everyday examples

Tuesday lunchtime: a woman has lost her bunch of keys, address tag and all, at the supermarket. After the door is opened, she decides on a standard cylinder, fitted on the same visit. Saturday night: a man has locked himself out, and his key is lying on the table inside. His cylinder works perfectly, so he does not need a new one. Both of them only decided at the open door, entirely according to their own situation. Neither of them had to commit to anything on the phone.

Does the fitting cost more at night?

No. Fitting a cylinder directly after a door opening on the same visit costs 49 €, by day and by night. Only the opening price itself differs according to the time of day and the day of the week.

Can I have my own cylinder ready?

Please mention this on the phone. A cylinder has to match the length of your door exactly. A cylinder bought on the off chance often does not fit.

Does the price also apply to an additional lock?

No. An additional lock does not have a list price. We give you a separate fixed price for it on the phone beforehand, and you can decide in peace.
