Lock change when tenants change – Ludwigsburg-Mitte

New flat in Ludwigsburg-Mitte, or just moved out? When tenants change, the old keys should no longer fit. ikeytz changes the euro profile cylinder of the flat door for this. The door is open, nothing gets broken. We tell you the fixed price on the phone before anyone sets off.

Briefly clarify who is ordering the change: the tenant, the landlord or the property management. Check whether the door has a single cylinder or whether the key also locks the front door and the cellar. If so, it is often a master key system (Schließanlage), and we quote a separate fixed price for that.

Ludwigsburg-Mitte lies around the palace, the market square and Wilhelmstraße, on the high ground above the Neckar. There you typically find old buildings with a courtyard gate and post-war buildings set back behind them. When one tenant moves out and another moves in, a handover appointment is often already arranged; tell us when it is, and we will plan the trip to fit. With old buildings with a courtyard gate, please tell us whether the gate is open or whether we need to ring.

With the door open, it is a simple cylinder change. Cylinder change only, with the door open: Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm 89 €, Mon–Fri 6 pm–8 am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 119 €. This includes travel, fitting and a standard euro profile cylinder. No ‘from’ price, no call-out fee within the service area.

Monday, 11 am, door open, cylinder only: 89 €. Monday, 7 pm, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. Saturday, 12 pm, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

We measure the cylinder inside and outside, choose the right length, pull out the old cylinder and fit the new one. Then you test every new key yourself. You get the old cylinder back in case the landlord wants it back when you move out.

Single cylinder: one key for one door. Keyed alike: one key for several of your own doors, such as the front door and the garage. Master key system: different keys, but they all open the shared front door. When tenants change, we usually replace the single cylinder of the flat door.

If the landlord changes the cylinder between two tenants, the landlord usually pays. If the new tenant has it changed by choice, the tenant usually pays and keeps the old cylinder for moving out. With a master key system, a single swap without permission is not a good idea. Sort this out briefly, and there will be no dispute later.

Just having one more spare key cut, even though it is unclear who else has keys. Buying a cylinder at a DIY store without measuring the length. Throwing away the old cylinder, even though it belongs to the landlord.

Only give new keys to people who really need one. Have extra keys cut from the original. Put the old cylinder in a bag with the date, in case it has to go back in when you move out.
