Lock change after a break-in – Neckarweihingen

If you want to sleep peacefully again after a break-in in Neckarweihingen, you need a door that locks securely. We change the cylinder, look at the lock, the strike plate and the door plate, and tell you clearly what is covered by the fixed price and what is a separate job.

1. Call the police on 110. 2. Do not change anything until the evidence has been secured. 3. Photograph the damage and inform your insurance. 4. Call us: we tell you on the phone whether a cylinder change is enough or whether the door has to be secured first.

Whether in Neckarweihingen, Schlößlesfeld or Hoheneck: after a break-in, what matters is a door that locks properly again. In Neckarweihingen you typically find older houses on the village street and estate houses up on the slope. We pay attention to the cylinder length and the door plate so that the new cylinder is not easy to attack again. Tell us whether you live down in the old village centre or up in the estate.

Cylinder change only, with the door open: Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm 89 €, Mon–Fri 6 pm–8 am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 119 €. This includes travel, fitting and a standard euro profile cylinder. A security cylinder typically costs 25–70 € more. Emergency securing, a new door plate or work on the door frame have no price on the list; for these we tell you a fixed price on the phone in advance.

Monday, 7 pm, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. Monday, 4 pm, locked out, slammed shut, new cylinder: 148 € plus material. Saturday, 10 am, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

First we look: does the lock still hold, is the strike plate in place, is the door plate firm? Then we fit the right cylinder, a security cylinder if needed. Any extra work only after you say yes to the fixed price.

When a door is levered open, the strike plate in the frame often gives way. Then a new cylinder is not enough. A reinforced strike plate with long screws into the masonry is a separate job with its own fixed price.

That depends on your policy and your living situation. Owners report the damage to their insurer. Tenants report it to the landlord and to their own home contents insurance. We issue an invoice listing every item, which you can submit. Please take legal questions to your insurer or an advice service.

Having the door repaired before the police have secured the evidence. Carrying on using the snapped-off cylinder as a makeshift solution. Fitting a cylinder that is too long and sticks out on the outside.

Check your windows and balcony door; they are often attacked too. Get free advice on burglary protection from the police. A security door plate is a useful addition.
