Lock change after a lost key – Neckarweihingen

Your bunch of keys is gone, but the door in Neckarweihingen still opens because someone has a spare key. Now is the right time for a new cylinder. We tell you the price in advance and come to you as a mobile service.

Quickly check the usual places and ask at the local lost property office (Fundbüro). If the key is really gone, call us. Tell us whether you can still get into the flat; the price depends on it.

We come to you in Neckarweihingen, about 3.6 km as the crow flies from the ikeytz office in Adalbert-Stifter-Straße. If you can still get in, it is a planned cylinder change. If you are locked out, we open the door first and then fit the new cylinder in the same trip. Tell us whether you live down in the old village centre or up in the estate.

If you can still get in: Cylinder change only, with the door open: Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm 89 €, Mon–Fri 6 pm–8 am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 119 €. This includes travel, fitting and a standard euro profile cylinder. If you are locked out: opening and a new cylinder in one trip cost 148 € / 198 € (slammed shut) or 178 € / 228 € (locked), cylinder material typically 25–50 €.

Tuesday, 10:30 am, locked out, slammed shut, new cylinder: 148 € plus material. Tuesday, 10:30 am, door open, cylinder only: 89 €. Tuesday, 8:30 pm, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

If you are inside, it is a simple swap: old cylinder out, new one in, test the lock. If you are outside, we first open the door without damage, if the door allows it, and then change the cylinder.

After losing a key, a new euro profile cylinder is almost always enough. The mortice lock in the door stays, because the key only operates the cylinder. We only replace the whole lock if it is damaged. This saves money and time.

If your key belongs to a master key system, losing it can affect the whole building. Tell the landlord or the property management. They decide whether only your cylinder or the whole system is changed. The cost for a system can be high; many personal liability insurance policies have a separate add-on for this. A single flat cylinder, on the other hand, is a standard case with a fixed price.

Waiting, even though your address and key were lost together. Only thinking about the lock on the flat door, but forgetting the garage or letterbox. Sending someone out without a fixed price.

A spare key with family or neighbours saves money next time. With security cylinders, keep the security card separate from the key.
