What “slammed shut” means technically

On a slammed-shut door only the spring latch is engaged. The lock bolt is still inside. That is why we can work with latch technique: through the door gap, without destroying the cylinder and without drilling the door, as long as it stays a standard case. That is different from “locked”. When the bolt is thrown, the locked opening applies with its own fixed price (129 € daytime). If you are unsure, we clarify the distinction on the phone from your description — latch versus bolt — and quote the matching fixed price before anyone sets off. This technical distinction is why the site publishes separate daytime and night cells, and separate locked versus slammed-shut offers. Mixing them on one page would confuse customers; each service keeps its own fixed price.

What is included in the fixed price 99 €

Included are travel within the service area, labour time for the slammed-shut opening with latch technique, and the identity check before opening. We do not open until we can verify that you are authorised. A new profile cylinder is not included. If the key is gone and you want a cylinder changed on the same trip, there are separate fixed prices for opening and new cylinder in one visit (148 € daytime). If the door is already accessible and you only need the cylinder, the cylinder package (89 €) applies — not this opening page. Within the service area, travel sits inside 99 €. Extra-difficult cases such as multi-point locking, high-security cylinders or drilling are quoted beforehand as their own fixed price — never as a silent surcharge after arrival.

When this fixed price applies — and when it does not

This page covers the daytime price: Monday to Friday 8 am–6 pm German time, not on public holidays in Baden-Württemberg. Evenings, nights, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays use the night price of 149 € — its own page, its own fixed price, no surcharge “somewhere in between”. Difficulties such as multi-point locking, high-security cylinders or drilling are named beforehand as their own fixed price. Long travel outside the service area likewise. Inside the service area, travel is part of 99 €. Internal links between cells are additive — without 301 redirects between price cells.

Process from the call to the open door

You call or write. We ask: slammed shut or locked, day or night price, address or postcode, whether a cylinder change is needed. Then we quote the fixed price. Only after that do we drive. On site we check identity. Then we open with latch technique. If everything fits and no cylinder is needed, you are back inside — without a new key and without a materials invoice for a cylinder you did not order. The same questions apply seven days a week: during the day the daytime price, outside daytime hours the night price. WhatsApp and email templates use the same prices, so the amount you hear matches the published fixed price.

The fixed price on the phone applies to the standard service in the service area. Reachable seven days, around the clock: during the day this price, outside daytime hours the night price. WhatsApp and email templates use the same prices. No invented “emergency surcharges” outside the published fixed prices. If your address is outside the usual area, we say so before departure and quote a separate fixed price for the extra travel — never after the work is done.

Rubbish, a parcel, the lunch break: typical moments

During the day, the door often slams shut when you just pop out for a moment. You take the rubbish down, accept a parcel for a neighbour, or fetch the post during your lunch break. A draught is enough, and the door is shut. The key is then usually hanging on its hook inside or sitting in your jacket on the coat rack. Nothing is locked; the door has simply slammed shut (zugefallen), and only the latch holds it.

When your child is about to come home from school

Some parents find themselves outside the door around midday, knowing that their child will be home soon. Please tell us this straight away on the phone. Ask a neighbour to take your child in for a little while in case they arrive before we do. Or send a message to the after-school club (Hort). That way nobody has to wait alone in the stairwell, and you can deal with the door in peace.

What you can prepare before the door is opened

First check whether a window, the patio door or the basement is open. Ask whether a relative nearby has a spare key. If not, call us and give us your town, street and floor. Think now about how you will show that you live here. If your ID card or passport is inside the flat, show it right after the door has been opened.

Mistakes that make a simple opening harder

Please do not try to force the door open yourself with a screwdriver, a knife or a plastic card. This very often damages the seal, the latch or the door leaf. A simple case can quickly turn into a complicated one. Shaking the door hard or kicking it does not help either. Leave the door as it is, and tell us exactly on the phone what happened and when.

What do I pay on a Saturday morning?

Saturday falls outside Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. For a door that has slammed shut, the fixed price is then 149 €, and we tell you this beforehand.

Can my neighbour confirm that I live here?

Yes. Confirmation from a neighbour is one of the ways to show proof that you live there. An ID card or passport with your address, the tenancy agreement or confirmation from the property management also work.

Will I get an invoice that I can pass on?

You always receive an invoice listing every item. Whether someone else covers part of it is something you will need to clarify yourself, for example with your landlord.
