What “slammed shut” means technically at night

At night the mechanics do not change: only the spring latch is engaged; the bolt stays inside. So we use the same latch technique as daytime — through the door gap, without destroying the cylinder and without drilling, as long as it stays standard. What changes is the price. Locked at night is 179 €, not 149 €. If you are unsure (latch versus bolt), we clarify on the phone and quote the matching fixed price before anyone sets off.

What is included in the fixed price 149 €

Included: travel within the service area, slammed-shut opening with latch technique, identity check before opening. We do not open without an authorisation check — not even at 2 a.m. Not included: a new profile cylinder. Key gone and new cylinder on the same trip: 198 € at night (material extra). Door already open, cylinder only: 119 €. Fitting only after a paid opening: 49 €. Difficulties and long extra travel are quoted beforehand as their own fixed price. Inside the service area, travel sits in 149 €.

When this night price applies — and when it does not

This page covers the night / weekend / public holiday price: Mon–Fri 6 pm–8 am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in Baden-Württemberg. During the day, Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm (not on public holidays), it costs 99 € — see the daytime page. Difficulties (multi-point locking, high-security cylinder, drilling) and long extra travel are named beforehand as their own fixed price. Inside the service area, travel is part of 149 €.

Process from the call to the opening at night

You call or write. We ask: slammed shut or locked, whether the night price applies, address or postcode, whether a cylinder change is needed. Then we quote 149 € (or the matching other fixed price). Only after that do we drive. On site: identity check, then latch technique. If everything fits and no cylinder is needed — you are back inside, without a materials invoice for a cylinder you did not order. WhatsApp and email use the same prices, so the amount matches the published night fixed price.

In your pyjamas in the stairwell

At night, the door often slams shut at moments when you are not prepared at all. You hear a noise in the hallway and go to have a look. You take the waste paper box down late in the evening. Or you let the cat out. Then you are standing outside in your slippers and without a jacket. Stay calm, and ask a neighbour for a blanket until we arrive.

Locked out without your phone: how to reach us anyway

Quite often the phone is inside the flat along with the keys. Ring the bell of a neighbour whose light is still on and ask whether you may make a quick call. In a block of flats, a friendly request at one door is usually enough. If you are often out alone late at night, you can keep our number on a slip of paper in your wallet, just in case. That saves a lot of searching and a lot of stress at night.

Lights in the stairwell and at the entrance

In the dark, it is harder for us to find a flat. Tell us on the phone whether the bell panel is lit and on which floor you are waiting. The stairwell light often switches off on a timer. Stay close to the switch and press it when you hear us coming. For buildings at the back of a courtyard or for granny flats, a short description of the way helps, for example “through the gateway, then left”.

Being considerate towards sleeping neighbours

At two o’clock in the morning, nobody wants to wake the whole building. You do not need to ring everyone’s bell. It is enough if you open the front door of the building for us or wait for us downstairs. To check that you live there, one single person who knows you is often enough, or your ID card or passport after the door has been opened. Talk quietly with us in the hallway about what happens next.

When a child or a pet is inside

If a small child is asleep alone in the flat, tell us immediately on the phone. If there is danger to a child or any other person, for example because something is cooking on the hob, call 112 first. Even without any acute danger, a sleeping baby on the other side of the door is hard for many parents to bear. Stay at the door and listen. Your being close often calms the child as well.

Does the night price also apply on a Sunday afternoon?

Yes. Sundays, Saturdays and public holidays in Baden-Württemberg are part of the time outside Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. For a door that has slammed shut, the fixed price is then 149 €.

Do you drill sooner at night to get things done quickly?

No. At night too, we always try first to open the door without damage. We only drill if it is necessary and you have expressly agreed beforehand.

My ID card is inside. Is that a problem?

No. In that case, you show your ID card or passport straight after the door has been opened. Alternatively, a neighbour can confirm that you live here.
