Lock change when tenants change – 74385

New flat in Pleidelsheim, or just moved out? When tenants change, the old keys should no longer fit. ikeytz changes the euro profile cylinder of the flat door for this. The door is open, nothing gets broken. We tell you the fixed price on the phone before anyone sets off.

Briefly clarify who is ordering the change: the tenant, the landlord or the property management. Check whether the door has a single cylinder or whether the key also locks the front door and the cellar. If so, it is often a master key system (Schließanlage), and we quote a separate fixed price for that.

ikeytz has no shop and comes to you in Pleidelsheim, about 9.1 km as the crow flies from the ikeytz office in Adalbert-Stifter-Straße. For a planned cylinder change when tenants move, we agree the day and time with you. We cover neighbouring places such as Ingersheim and Freiberg am Neckar in the same way. Tell us whether you live more on the motorway side or by the river bank.

With the door open, it is a simple cylinder change. Cylinder change only, with the door open: Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm 89 €, Mon–Fri 6 pm–8 am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 119 €. This includes travel, fitting and a standard euro profile cylinder. No ‘from’ price, no call-out fee within the service area.

Saturday, 10 am, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. Wednesday, 10:30 am, locked out, slammed shut, new cylinder: 148 € plus material. Wednesday, 10 pm, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

We measure the cylinder inside and outside, choose the right length, pull out the old cylinder and fit the new one. Then you test every new key yourself. You get the old cylinder back in case the landlord wants it back when you move out.

Single cylinder: one key for one door. Keyed alike: one key for several of your own doors, such as the front door and the garage. Master key system: different keys, but they all open the shared front door. When tenants change, we usually replace the single cylinder of the flat door.

If the landlord changes the cylinder between two tenants, the landlord usually pays. If the new tenant has it changed by choice, the tenant usually pays and keeps the old cylinder for moving out. With a master key system, a single swap without permission is not a good idea. Sort this out briefly, and there will be no dispute later.

Agree with the landlord beforehand who pays and who gets the old cylinder. Write down who receives which new keys. A cylinder that is too long sticks out on the outside and is easier to attack; we choose the right length.

Only give new keys to people who really need one. Have extra keys cut from the original. Put the old cylinder in a bag with the date, in case it has to go back in when you move out.
