Lockout service for letterboxes – 71282

Lost your letterbox key in Hemmingen and important post is waiting? We open letterboxes and fit a new lock if you wish. There is no list price for letterboxes; we tell you the fixed price in advance.

A single letterbox on a house, or a bank of letterboxes in a block of flats? Is there still a key? Should a new lock be fitted? With this information we can tell you the price.

On site we check the name on the letterbox and your ID card or passport. In Hemmingen you typically find detached houses from the 1980s on the edge of the village and old farmsteads in the centre. Old farmsteads often have two gates. Tell us which gate and which door.

There is no list price for letterboxes. We tell you a fixed price on the phone before we set off. No ‘from’ price, no surprises on site.

We only open letterboxes that have your name on them or that you are entitled to open. Afterwards we change the lock if you like.

Most letterboxes have a small lever lock or a mini cylinder that turns a bolt. Replacement locks come in many lengths and shapes. We measure beforehand so that the new lock fits and the flap closes tightly.

In blocks of flats, a letterbox in a shared unit usually belongs to the owner. A new lock should match the unit. We clarify this with you beforehand.

If there is an official letter with a deadline in the letterbox, tell us. Then we look for an early appointment. Deadlines often start when the letter is delivered to the letterbox, not when you read it; so it is worth not waiting long. Please clarify legal questions about this with the relevant authority.

Banks of letterboxes often belong to the landlord. A new lock should match the unit; we check this in advance.

It can make sense to keep your letterbox key separate from your flat key; then you do not lose everything at once.
