A broken key blocks the cylinder. If you are stuck outside your door in Hemmingen, you need two things: the broken piece out and the door open. We do both on one call-out, at a fixed price.

First remove the broken piece, then check whether the cylinder still locks smoothly. If it is damaged: a new cylinder on the same call-out, only once you say yes.

The key is hard to insert, catches when you turn it or has to be jiggled. Then the cylinder is dirty or worn. Graphite or cylinder spray often makes it run smoothly again. If that does not help, a new cylinder is cheaper than a snapped key.

If the cylinder is damaged after the broken piece is removed, it usually belongs to the landlord. A swap makes sense then, but agree it with the landlord if the cylinder belongs to a system. We swap single cylinders at a fixed price.
