Lock change after a lost key – 71720

Your bunch of keys is gone, but the door in Oberstenfeld still opens because someone has a spare key. Now is the right time for a new cylinder. We tell you the price in advance and come to you as a mobile service.

Think about what else was on the key ring: front door, car, office, letterbox? Was your name or address on it? If so, the cylinder should be changed soon. If you rent and the key is part of a master key system, inform your landlord.

Oberstenfeld lies in the Bottwar valley below Lichtenberg Castle, with the villages of Prevorst and Gronau. There you typically find houses in the main village and in the villages on the high ground. After a key loss we usually only change the cylinder of the flat door or the front door. Tell us the village: main village, Gronau or Prevorst; the distances between them are long.

Door open: 89 € Monday to Friday during the day, otherwise 119 €, standard cylinder included. If the door has to be opened first, the opening (99 € / 149 € slammed shut, 129 € / 179 € locked) is followed by fitting in the same trip for 49 €; the cylinder then typically costs 25–50 € (standard).

Saturday, 8 am, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. Monday, 2:30 pm, locked out, slammed shut, new cylinder: 148 € plus material. Monday, 7 pm, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

We check which cylinder is fitted, measure the length and fit a new one. You test the new keys yourself. You can have more keys cut later; with security profiles this is only possible with the security card.

After losing a key, a new euro profile cylinder is almost always enough. The mortice lock in the door stays, because the key only operates the cylinder. We only replace the whole lock if it is damaged. This saves money and time.

If your key belongs to a master key system, losing it can affect the whole building. Tell the landlord or the property management. They decide whether only your cylinder or the whole system is changed. The cost for a system can be high; many personal liability insurance policies have a separate add-on for this. A single flat cylinder, on the other hand, is a standard case with a fixed price.

Waiting, even though your address and key were lost together. Only thinking about the lock on the flat door, but forgetting the garage or letterbox. Sending someone out without a fixed price.

Carry your new keys without an address tag. Keep a spare key with someone you trust. Keep the invoice for your insurance.
