Emergency locksmith for a broken key – Gemmrigheim

Key snapped in the lock in Gemmrigheim, and half of it is still stuck inside? Stop pulling at it. We get the rest out and open the door if you are locked out. We tell you the price on the phone.

Don’t work in the cylinder with tweezers, wire or glue. That often pushes the broken piece deeper. Keep the piece that broke off. Tell us whether the door has just slammed shut (only the latch holds) or is locked.

A broken key can usually be removed quickly. Typical buildings in Gemmrigheim are houses in the lower lanes by the river and new builds up on the slope. Tell us whether you live down by the Neckar or up in the new housing area.

If you are locked out, the opening price applies: 99 € or 149 € (slammed shut), 129 € or 179 € (locked), removal of the broken piece included. If you can still get in and only the broken piece needs to come out, we tell you the price on the phone first.

Wednesday, 10:30 am, locked: 129 €. Wednesday, 10:30 am, door slammed shut: 99 €. Sunday, 10 am, locked: 179 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

First remove the broken piece, then check whether the cylinder still locks smoothly. If it is damaged: a new cylinder on the same call-out, only once you say yes.

The key is hard to insert, catches when you turn it or has to be jiggled. Then the cylinder is dirty or worn. Graphite or cylinder spray often makes it run smoothly again. If that does not help, a new cylinder is cheaper than a snapped key.

If the cylinder is damaged after the broken piece is removed, it usually belongs to the landlord. A swap makes sense then, but agree it with the landlord if the cylinder belongs to a system. We swap single cylinders at a fixed price.

Have worn keys copied before they break. If the cylinder sticks, dirt is often the cause; graphite or cylinder spray helps, oil does not.

Replace old, thin keys. Look after stiff cylinders or have them changed. Never force a key.
