Mundelsheim is in a bend of the Neckar below the Käsberg, between Hessigheim and Pleidelsheim. Typical buildings there are houses on narrow hillside streets, often with a second entrance on the valley side. If the address and key were together, the cylinder should not wait until tomorrow. Many hillside streets have no pavement. Tell us where we can stop.

Locked out: opening plus a new cylinder 148 € / 198 € (slammed shut) or 178 € / 228 € (locked), material typically 25–50 €. Door open: 89 € Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm, otherwise 119 €.

Check which door is affected. Open it if you are locked out. Change the cylinder, test the locking, hand over the keys. Invoice for your insurance or police report.

Write down which keys were on the key ring. The flat door and the front door matter most. The garage, letterbox and cellar come next. For every door with a cylinder we quote a fixed price. With a master key system, the owner decides about the whole system.

Report the theft to the police. You need the confirmation for your insurance and your bank. Whether your home contents insurance pays for the cylinder change depends on your policy. With a master key system, tell the landlord, because the whole building may be affected.

Think of every door the key opens: front door, garage, letterbox. Keep the police report confirmation for your insurance.

Over the next few days, watch out for anything unusual around the building. Tell your neighbours if the key to the building’s front door was stolen.
