Grünbühl is north of Ludwigsburg town centre on the Sonnenberg, near the B27. Typical buildings there are stairwells in post-war blocks and terraced houses with a back door. We ask to see an ID card or post with the address, so we are sure we are opening the right door. With terraced houses, please tell us whether it is the front door or the door to the garden.

Older people often just pull the door shut when taking out the rubbish or emptying the letterbox. Then only the latch has clicked into place. We can usually open this without damage. A key left in the cylinder on the inside can make the work harder; tell us if it is there.

Before we start work, we introduce ourselves by name, tell you the price and explain what we are doing. We check that the person lives there. Relatives are welcome to join on the phone at any time. Nobody has to sign anything they have not understood.

If the person is standing outside in winter or important medication is in the flat, tell us. Ask neighbours to bring the person inside until we arrive.

A spare key with neighbours or relatives helps most.
