If your key is lost, a new cylinder makes sense anyway. In Kornwestheim we open the locked door and change the cylinder at the same time: 178 € during the day, plus material.
Locked and lost?
If you locked the door when you left, the bolt is thrown. If the key is lost, a new cylinder makes sense. If it’s inside, the opening for 129 € is enough.
Locked door in Kornwestheim
Kornwestheim is south of Ludwigsburg on the B27, next to the large marshalling yard. Typical there are estate blocks, old buildings by the railway and former rows of the US housing estate towards Pattonville. We open via the cylinder and change it afterwards. If you live in the western part of Pattonville, that belongs to Kornwestheim. Please mention it on the phone.
What’s included
Travel to Kornwestheim, opening of the locked door, fitting, test locking. Extra: material; security cylinder typically 25–70 € more. Drilling or multi-point locking: price beforehand.
Worked examples for Kornwestheim
Wednesday, 11 am, locked, new cylinder: 178 € plus material. For comparison: opening only: 129 €. Wednesday, 7 pm, night, with cylinder: 228 € plus material. Wednesday, 12 pm, locked, security cylinder: 178 € plus material and typically 25–70 € extra. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.
If drilling is needed
With some security cylinders, it only works with drilling. Then the cylinder is replaced anyway. We tell you beforehand.
178 € explained
129 € for opening the locked door, 49 € for fitting the new cylinder, on the same visit. Plus the material.
Bolt and cylinder
The bolt is moved by the cylinder. That’s why a locked door takes more work than a slammed one, and that’s why the price is higher.
Insurance
Some household contents or personal liability insurers cover costs if you lose your key; check your policy. Our invoice shows every item.
Key stolen?
If the key was stolen, report the theft to the police. The new cylinder makes the stolen key worthless. Our invoice and the police case number help with your insurance.
Several residents
If several people live in the flat, they all need new keys. Count beforehand how many you need.
Checklist
Locked? Key lost or stolen? Master key system? Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm? Then 178 € plus material.
Common mistakes
Drilling the cylinder yourself. Only having the door opened, although the lost key still fits.
After the change
Only give new keys to people who need them. Collect the old keys.
