Emergency locksmith for a lost key – 71696

No key, door shut: in Möglingen we open flat and front doors at a fixed price. What matters for the price: has the door just slammed shut (zugefallen), or is it locked (abgeschlossen)?

If only the latch has clicked in, the door has slammed shut. If you locked it with the key, the bolt is thrown. That makes the price difference: 99 € or 129 € Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm.

When you are locked out, you want to get back in fast. Typical buildings in Möglingen are estate houses built between 1960 and 2000 and a few old farmsteads on the through road. Tell us the street and a cross street; that saves searching.

Slammed shut 99 € Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm, otherwise 149 €. Locked 129 € or 179 €. With a new cylinder: 148 € / 198 € or 178 € / 228 €, plus material.

Tuesday, 1 pm, locked, opening and new cylinder: 178 € plus material. Tuesday, 1 pm, slammed shut, opening only: 99 €. Saturday, 3 pm, slammed shut, opening and new cylinder: 198 € plus material. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

Arrive, look at the door, open it. If the door has slammed shut, we usually open it via the latch; if it is locked, via the cylinder. A new cylinder only once you say yes.

The latch is the slanted bolt that clicks into place when you pull the door shut. The bolt only comes out when you lock the door. We usually open doors that have slammed shut via the latch, without touching the cylinder. With locked doors we work on the cylinder. That is why we ask about it on the phone.

In a rented flat, the landlord may also have a spare key. Ask them if you can reach them. If the lost key belongs to a master key system, you need to tell them anyway.

Trying it yourself with a card or wire and damaging the frame. Booking the first company you find without a fixed price. Forgetting whether the door was locked.

A spare key with family, friends or neighbours saves time and money. Never put your address on your key ring.
