Lock change when tenants change – 71706

New flat in Markgröningen, or just moved out? When tenants change, the old keys should no longer fit. ikeytz changes the euro profile cylinder of the flat door for this. The door is open, nothing gets broken. We tell you the fixed price on the phone before anyone sets off.

Is the door open? Is it about moving in or moving out? Is the cylinder part of the building’s master key system? With these three answers we can tell you the fixed price and roughly when we will arrive in Markgröningen.

ikeytz has no shop and comes to you in Markgröningen, about 10.5 km as the crow flies from the ikeytz office in Adalbert-Stifter-Straße. For a planned cylinder change when tenants move, we agree the day and time with you. We cover neighbouring places such as Schwieberdingen and Tamm in the same way. With old half-timbered doors, tell us whether there is a modern cylinder or an old rim lock, if you know.

Cylinder change only, with the door open: Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm 89 €, Mon–Fri 6 pm–8 am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 119 €. This includes travel, fitting and a standard euro profile cylinder. If the cylinder is part of a master key system, it is not a standard case: we then quote a separate fixed price in advance.

Friday, 6:30 am, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. Friday, 11 am, locked out, slammed shut, new cylinder: 148 € plus material. Saturday, 12 pm, door open, cylinder only: 119 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

First we check the size and the door fittings. Then we swap the cylinder, test the lock several times and hand over the new keys. If you are a tenant, keep the old cylinder: when you move out, the original condition is often expected.

Single cylinder: one key for one door. Keyed alike: one key for several of your own doors, such as the front door and the garage. Master key system: different keys, but they all open the shared front door. When tenants change, we usually replace the single cylinder of the flat door.

The cylinder fitted in your door usually belongs to the landlord. As a tenant, you can often swap it for your own, as long as you keep the old one safe and have it put back when you move out. With a master key system, the owner decides, because a swap can affect everyone in the building. If in doubt, talk to the property management first. ikeytz does not give legal advice, but we only change a cylinder when it is clear who is placing the order.

Just having one more spare key cut, even though it is unclear who else has keys. Buying a cylinder at a DIY store without measuring the length. Throwing away the old cylinder, even though it belongs to the landlord.

Only give new keys to people who really need one. Have extra keys cut from the original. Put the old cylinder in a bag with the date, in case it has to go back in when you move out.
