Emergency locksmith: child alone in the flat – 71706

Toddler inside, parents outside, in Markgröningen (71706): this is one of the most common situations for an emergency locksmith. We take these calls at once, tell you the price and set off.

Talk calmly to your child through the door. Check whether the cooker, bath, balcony or windows are a danger. If there is danger: 112. Otherwise call us and stay at the door.

With a child behind the door, staying calm is what counts. Typical buildings in Markgröningen are very old half-timbered houses with doors in non-standard sizes and prefabricated houses on the edge. With old half-timbered doors, tell us whether there is a modern cylinder or an old rim lock, if you know.

Usually the door has just slammed shut: 99 € Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm, otherwise 149 €. If it was locked: 129 € or 179 €.

Thursday, 2:30 pm, locked: 129 €. Thursday, 11:15 pm, door slammed shut: 149 €. Sunday, 8 am, locked: 179 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

Arrive, take a quick look at the door, open it without damage. While we work, keep talking to your child.

If the child has turned the key on the inside, the bolt is out. Then it is a locked door. We can usually open that without damage too; it just takes a little longer.

Nobody needs to feel embarrassed about calling 112 when a child is behind the door. Better once too often. The control centre decides whether the fire brigade comes. We are the right help once it is clear that there is no danger.

Is the child answering? Is the cooker off, is no water running, are the windows closed? Is there a key in the lock on the inside? Is the door slammed shut or locked? Danger: 112. Otherwise call us and stay at the door.

Rattling the door with force, which frightens the child. Asking the child to go to the lock or the window. Calling a locksmith first instead of 112 when there is danger.

With small children, do not leave the key in the lock on the inside. Doors with a fixed knob on the outside slam shut easily if the child pushes them.
