Emergency locksmith: child alone in the flat – 71563

A child alone behind the door in Affalterbach is pure stress for parents. If your child is fine, we open the door without damage. If there is any danger, the rule is: call 112 first.

If your child is crying and not answering, water is running, the cooker is on or a window is open: call 112 straight away. The fire brigade opens the door in such cases. Only when there is no danger are we the right help.

With a child behind the door, staying calm is what counts. Typical buildings in Affalterbach are detached houses on the edge of the village and flats above shops in the centre. On the edge of the village, a short description of the access road helps.

Arrive, take a quick look at the door, open it without damage. While we work, keep talking to your child.

If the child has turned the key on the inside, the bolt is out. Then it is a locked door. We can usually open that without damage too; it just takes a little longer.

Nobody needs to feel embarrassed about calling 112 when a child is behind the door. Better once too often. The control centre decides whether the fire brigade comes. We are the right help once it is clear that there is no danger.

Is the child answering? Is the cooker off, is no water running, are the windows closed? Is there a key in the lock on the inside? Is the door slammed shut or locked? Danger: 112. Otherwise call us and stay at the door.

Don’t leave the key in the lock on the inside when small children are around. Leave a spare key with neighbours.

With small children, do not leave the key in the lock on the inside. Doors with a fixed knob on the outside slam shut easily if the child pushes them.
