Emergency locksmith: child alone in the flat – 74392

A child alone behind the door in Freudental is pure stress for parents. If your child is fine, we open the door without damage. If there is any danger, the rule is: call 112 first.

If your child is crying and not answering, water is running, the cooker is on or a window is open: call 112 straight away. The fire brigade opens the door in such cases. Only when there is no danger are we the right help.

With a child behind the door, staying calm is what counts. Typical buildings in Freudental are older houses with an archway into the yard and detached houses. With houses with an archway into the yard, tell us whether the yard gate is open.

Arrive, take a quick look at the door, open it without damage. While we work, keep talking to your child.

Many flat doors have a fixed knob on the outside. If the door slams shut, you cannot get in without a key. Children sometimes push the door shut from inside while their parents are briefly outside. If only the latch has clicked into place, opening is usually quick and without damage.

Nobody needs to feel embarrassed about calling 112 when a child is behind the door. Better once too often. The control centre decides whether the fire brigade comes. We are the right help once it is clear that there is no danger.

Is the child answering? Is the cooker off, is no water running, are the windows closed? Is there a key in the lock on the inside? Is the door slammed shut or locked? Danger: 112. Otherwise call us and stay at the door.

Rattling the door with force, which frightens the child. Asking the child to go to the lock or the window. Calling a locksmith first instead of 112 when there is danger.

Take time for your child. Take the key out of the lock when you leave the flat. A spare key with neighbours helps next time.
