Emergency locksmith: child alone in the flat – 74354

Toddler inside, parents outside, in Besigheim (74354): this is one of the most common situations for an emergency locksmith. We take these calls at once, tell you the price and set off.

If your child is crying and not answering, water is running, the cooker is on or a window is open: call 112 straight away. The fire brigade opens the door in such cases. Only when there is no danger are we the right help.

Besigheim is where the Enz flows into the Neckar, with an old town on the spur between the two rivers. Typical buildings there are heavy wooden doors in narrow old-town lanes and 1970s estate houses on the edge. Tell us on the phone that a child is inside. In the old town there is hardly anywhere to stop. Tell us where a vehicle can park nearby.

Usually the door has just slammed shut: 99 € Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm, otherwise 149 €. If it was locked: 129 € or 179 €.

Sunday, 3 pm, locked: 179 €. Friday, 1 pm, door slammed shut: 99 €. Friday, 1 pm, locked: 129 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

We usually open the door via the latch, without damaging the cylinder. With a door that has slammed shut, this is often quick. Then you are back with your child.

Many flat doors have a fixed knob on the outside. If the door slams shut, you cannot get in without a key. Children sometimes push the door shut from inside while their parents are briefly outside. If only the latch has clicked into place, opening is usually quick and without damage.

Nobody needs to feel embarrassed about calling 112 when a child is behind the door. Better once too often. The control centre decides whether the fire brigade comes. We are the right help once it is clear that there is no danger.

Is the child answering? Is the cooker off, is no water running, are the windows closed? Is there a key in the lock on the inside? Is the door slammed shut or locked? Danger: 112. Otherwise call us and stay at the door.

Don’t leave the key in the lock on the inside when small children are around. Leave a spare key with neighbours.

Take time for your child. Take the key out of the lock when you leave the flat. A spare key with neighbours helps next time.
