Lock change after a lost key – 71732

A lost key is a risk if it went missing together with your address, for example with your ID card in your wallet. In Tamm (71732) we then change the lock cylinder so that the old key no longer fits.

Quickly check the usual places and ask at the local lost property office (Fundbüro). If the key is really gone, call us. Tell us whether you can still get into the flat; the price depends on it.

Tamm lies between Ludwigsburg and Bietigheim on the high ground, on the S-Bahn and the B27. There you typically find terraced houses and 1970s multi-storey buildings near the S-Bahn stop. We check which cylinder is fitted, measure the length and fit a new one. You test the new keys yourself. You can have more keys cut later; with security profiles this is only possible with the security card.

The new cylinder has the same length as the old one, unless the old one stuck out too far. Then we choose a shorter one. The locking is new, and old keys no longer fit. If you want more protection, choose a security cylinder with a card.

If your key belongs to a master key system, losing it can affect the whole building. Tell the landlord or the property management. They decide whether only your cylinder or the whole system is changed. The cost for a system can be high; many personal liability insurance policies have a separate add-on for this. A single flat cylinder, on the other hand, is a standard case with a fixed price.
