Emergency locksmith for a lost key – 71665

No key, door shut: in Vaihingen an der Enz we open flat and front doors at a fixed price. What matters for the price: has the door just slammed shut (zugefallen), or is it locked (abgeschlossen)?

If only the latch has clicked in, the door has slammed shut. If you locked it with the key, the bolt is thrown. That makes the price difference: 99 € or 129 € Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm.

Vaihingen an der Enz is in the west of the district on the Enz, below Kaltenstein Castle (not Stuttgart-Vaihingen). Typical buildings there are houses in the old-town lanes and in districts such as Ensingen, Gündelbach or Riet. We always try a non-destructive opening first; only if that doesn’t work do we tell you beforehand what else is needed. Tell us the district. Vaihingen an der Enz is not Stuttgart-Vaihingen.

Door opening, door slammed shut: Mon–Fri 8 am–6 pm 99 €, Mon–Fri 6 pm–8 am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 149 €. Locked: 129 € or 179 €. If you want a new cylinder straight away because the key was lost with your address: Opening plus a new cylinder on the same call-out: slammed shut 148 € / 198 €, locked 178 € / 228 €; cylinder material typically 25–50 € (standard).

Tuesday, 8:30 pm, locked, opening and new cylinder: 228 € plus material. Saturday, 3 pm, slammed shut, opening and new cylinder: 198 € plus material. Tuesday, 1 pm, slammed shut, opening only: 99 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

Arrive, look at the door, open it. If the door has slammed shut, we usually open it via the latch; if it is locked, via the cylinder. A new cylinder only once you say yes.

The latch is the slanted bolt that clicks into place when you pull the door shut. The bolt only comes out when you lock the door. We usually open doors that have slammed shut via the latch, without touching the cylinder. With locked doors we work on the cylinder. That is why we ask about it on the phone.

We only open the door if you live there or are authorised. Show your ID card or passport or, after opening, post with your address from inside the flat. This protects you from someone else having your door opened.

Leave a spare key with someone you trust, without an address tag. To avoid a door slamming shut on you, take a second to think about your key as you leave.

A spare key with family, friends or neighbours saves time and money. Never put your address on your key ring.
