Emergency locksmith for a broken key – 71665

A broken key blocks the cylinder. If you are stuck outside your door in Vaihingen an der Enz, you need two things: the broken piece out and the door open. We do both on one call-out, at a fixed price.

Don’t put superglue on the broken piece. Don’t yank hard on the handle. Don’t throw away the broken-off piece. It shows us the key profile.

We come to Vaihingen an der Enz, about 20.0 km as the crow flies from the ikeytz office in Adalbert-Stifter-Straße. We tell you on the phone when we will arrive. Keep the piece of key ready. Tell us the district. Vaihingen an der Enz is not Stuttgart-Vaihingen.

If you are locked out, the opening price applies: 99 € or 149 € (slammed shut), 129 € or 179 € (locked), removal of the broken piece included. If you can still get in and only the broken piece needs to come out, we tell you the price on the phone first.

Thursday, 11:15 pm, door slammed shut: 149 €. Sunday, 8 am, locked: 179 €. Thursday, 11 am, door slammed shut: 99 €. We confirm the exact amount by phone before we set off.

First remove the broken piece, then check whether the cylinder still locks smoothly. If it is damaged: a new cylinder on the same call-out, only once you say yes.

With thin hook tools we reach behind the teeth of the key fragment and pull it forward. Before that, the cylinder has to be in its starting position. If the broken piece is stuck at an angle, we turn it back first. Drilling is rarely needed for this.

If the cylinder is damaged after the broken piece is removed, it usually belongs to the landlord. A swap makes sense then, but agree it with the landlord if the cylinder belongs to a system. We swap single cylinders at a fixed price.

Have worn keys copied before they break. If the cylinder sticks, dirt is often the cause; graphite or cylinder spray helps, oil does not.

Replace old, thin keys. Look after stiff cylinders or have them changed. Never force a key.
